Both from a personal and a professional aspect -from where I am sitting... Take out any financial amount that you would pay for the monthly services... I agree with you. Can one afford to trust someone else with their data? It's okay if we are talking pictures and music, etc, and you don't want to carry any sized memory into a meeting, a plane, or that family reunion... But rather to just log into to any old stationary or mobile device and have access to said data. In the case of iTunes Cloud... you pay a monthly service, and they manage and I would presume police all of your music, television, and movies... You would no longer have the actual data on any of your devices, just access to them through their library on their device they sold you, or a device that they allow you to install their service. No thank you iTunes, or anyone else. On a personal level, buy 1 or more TaraByte hard drives, and upgrade and add to as needed and be done with it. On a business level, get more servers, and hard drives as needed and secure the facility, and have back ups, and call it a day.
